The Finance Director of Tex Styles Ghana Limited, Mr Kofi Boateng, has been appointed as the Managing Director of the company with effect from July 1, 2014.
Mr Boateng’s appointment was confirmed in The Netherlands by the executive board of Vlisco, owners of the brand.
In his new role, Mr Boateng takes over the leadership of the company, which manufactures GTP and Woodin fabrics, as well as Premium African Textiles, the distribution, sales and marketing company of the Vlisco Group in Ghana.
A statement issued by the company said before his appointment, Mr Boateng was the Finance Director and in that capacity had added responsibility for the financial management of the Vlisco Group’s retail operations in Africa.
He started his career as a management trainee with the Kumasi Brewery Limited, where he became the Management Accountant/Project Manager, it said.
Mr Boateng, the statement added, later moved to UAC Textiles Division of Unilever Ghana and then to the Ghana Textiles Printing Company (now Tex Styles Ghana Ltd) as the Finance Director.
“He comes into the job with over 30 years’ experience in finance, manufacturing and sales, making him well positioned to guide the organisation towards its new strategic direction,” the statement said.
Mr Boateng is a Chartered Accountant and a product of the University of Ghana Business School and Achimota School.
