MultiChoice Ghana marks 30 years of operations with a pledge for more exciting content
MultiChoice Ghana, a prominent player in the broadcasting industry, commemorated three decades of operation in the country, expressing a commitment to delivering even more compelling content in the years ahead.

During an interview on the sidelines of the anniversary celebration held in Accra, Nii Armah Dagadu, the Head of Corporate Affairs at MultiChoice Ghana, highlighted the company's resilience amid economic challenges throughout the year.
He pointed out that despite the difficulties, MultiChoice Ghana successfully introduced new products, such as GoTV stream, Showmaxx, and DSTV streaming, in the past year.
Expressing gratitude, Dagadu said, "We are extremely grateful to our customers, our supporters, stakeholders, and all our clients who have worked with us over the years."
Established in 1993, MultiChoice Ghana has been a significant contributor to Ghana's economy, providing thousands of direct and indirect employment opportunities. The company's annual contribution to Ghana's GDP stands at approximately $44 million, with local tax and regulatory contributions amounting to around $15.8 million per year. Additionally, MultiChoice Ghana invests an extra $22 million in content creation for film, drama, and reality television.
The Akwabaa Magic Channel, a popular offering from MultiChoice, has played a pivotal role in job creation, generating about 1,500 jobs in the commissioning and licensing value chain. This channel contributes $2.7 million annually to the domestic creative industry.
MultiChoice Ghana also actively participated in Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives during the COVID-19 pandemic. Collaborating with the Ministry of Education, the company hosted Ghana Learning TV on its platform and donated over $100,000 worth of Personal Protective Equipment to several health facilities in the country.
As MultiChoice Ghana marks its 30th anniversary, the company looks forward to continued growth and innovation, promising viewers more exciting content in the years to come.
