Multi Credit celebrates 20 years today

One of the pioneers in Ghana’s savings and loans companies, Multi Credit, marks 20 years in business today with a big launch in Kumasi in the Asahnti Region to reward loyal customers.

The top three customers are expected to be rewarded with different brands of Toyota vehicle while the fourth and fifth winners take home round trip tickets to Johannesburg in South Africa, and Dubai in United Arab Emirates with $1,000 and $500 spending money respectively.

Then known as Garden City Savings and Loans based mainly in Kumasi with just five branches, the company had to be rechristened Multi Credit after approval by the Bank of Ghana, to expand its frontiers to cover the entire country.

Branches

Currently, Multi Credit boasts of 66 branches nationwide with about GH¢73 million loan portfolio offering loans to small to medium scale enterprises , and also public sector sector workers. It has over one million active customers with a work force of 1,500 serving all kinds of needs and helping to ease financial pressure on local businesses and individuals as well.

In Kumasi in particular, Multi Credit remains one of the most visible subsidiaries among the Kessben Group of companies offering community support in the area of health, education, social as part of its corporate social responsibility interventions to individuals and communities.

Larger group

As established early on, Multi Credit is one of brands within the Kessben Group of Companies, that has consistently maintained its pride of place. The Group itself is 32 years established by a business executive, Mr Kwabena Kesse, popularly known as Kessben in Kumasi.

Businesses

On his return from Holland in the 1980s, Kessben began building his business blocks from a small pharmaceutical company to the importation of used fridges from Europe to presently multi-faceted business entities.
