Medlab partners Synlab group
Premier medical laboratory centre, Medlab Ghana Limited, is partnering Synlab to provide additional specialised services.

As part of the partnership, Synlab, which is one of the largest clinical laboratory service providers in Europe, will own significant shares in Medven Africa, the parent company of Medlab.
The company will in turn provide customers of Medlab a wide range of specialised tests, including the introduction of new diagnostic technologies and develop partnerships with hospitals.
Customers of Medlab will also be able to access the services of an extensive range of specialised pathologists.
A release issued by Medlab said the Managing Director, Dr Rosemary Keatley, and Board Chair, Mr Mark Keatley, would continue to function in their executive management role of Medlab Ghana, and will also support Synlab in identifying opportunities to provide international quality diagnostic services in other fast-growing African markets.

Medlab, headquartered in Accra, Ghana, is also celebrating its 20th anniversary in the country. Medlab’s central laboratory in Accra in 2008 became the first lab in West Africa to be accredited to ISO-15189, the highest quality standard in the world for medical laboratories.
Medlab provides a wide range of laboratory analysis, and also has provided, since 2001, radiology services through Medical Imaging Ghana, so that patients can benefit from a “one-stop-shop”.Medlab has four laboratories and five other branches in Ghana, and employs over 60 staff.
