The annual get-together cocktail party brought together music ensembles, soloists and esteemed guests who gathered to witness the symbolic illumination of the Christmas trees.

Speaking at the ceremony in Accra last Sunday, the General Manager of the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City, Accra, Hanno Barkhoff, expressed appreciation to guests for continuously being a part of the hotel’s success story.

“Throughout the years, the hotel has achieved remarkable milestones. However, none of these achievements would have been possible without the unwavering support, trust and patronage of clients.

“It is an honour to stand before you today and acknowledge every one of you as an integral part of our success story. Your presence here tonight is a testament to the strong bond we have built and shared as a community.”

Initiatives

Highlighting some corporate social responsibility (CSR) by the company, he said the launch of BE Health this year has allowed his outfit to contribute to the awareness and fight against breast cancer, offering support to those affected by this devastating disease.

Mr Barkhoff said the hotel has provided education and offered assistance to individuals and families on their journey towards recovery and healing.

Additionally, he said a fun day was organised for children with autism, providing them with a safe and inclusive space to engage in recreational activities and foster social connections.

“I must say that these accomplishments would not have been possible without the collective efforts of our dedicated team, the support of you, our esteemed guests, and the trust placed in us by our valued clients.

“Without doubt, your continued belief in our vision and your participation in our endeavours have been very instrumental in shaping our success.

As we illuminate this festive season, may the season bring us love, peace and happiness, and may we continue to stand together, always united in our efforts to create a better world,” he said.

Catalyst for positive change

Acknowledging the hardships faced by many around the globe, the Ambassador of Lebanon and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, Maher Kheir, who was the Special Guest of Honour, said amidst an economic crisis and the shadows of conflict and wars, the symbolism of this Christmas tree takes on an even deeper meaning.

“Its lights, though small, collectively create shining stars that pierce through the darkness, reminding us that even in the toughest moments, unity and shared resilience can bring forth a brighter tomorrow.

The ornament on this tree represents not just festive decorations, but the diverse threads of humanity, each facing unique struggles,” he said, adding, “By fostering compassion and understanding, we can collectively work towards a world where the lights of humanity shine even in the most troubled corners so that we no longer see a child crying or a mother mourning.”
