Joseph Boateng wins UMB’s ‘New You Promotion’

A 36-year-old miner at Effijase in the Ashanti Region, Mr Joseph Boateng, has won the ultimate prize of GH¢100,000 in the final “New You Promotion” draw of the Universal Merchant Bank (UMB).

A resident of Tarkwa in the Western Region, Ms Charity Enyonam Attifu, took home a Hyundai ix35 as the second prize.

The two winners were presented with their prizes at a ceremony in Accra yesterday.

Prior to the final draw of the promotion which began three months ago, 30 winners were presented with Samsung Galaxy Tabs in three separate mini-draws.

As part of the promotion, UMB made a donation of an undisclosed amount to the Citi Opportunity Project on Education (COPE), a Citi FM foundation to support needy students.

UMB’s commitment

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, the Director of Retail Banking of UMB, Mr Lawrence Appiah-Baiden, said the promotion was a manifestation of the bank’s commitment to put the interests of its customers first.

He said the promotion was also geared towards attracting new customers to the bank, and that “the bank intended to upgrade the status of its customers”.

According to Mr Appiah-Baiden, UMB recently opened two branches at East Legon and Nungua in Accra with the aim of drawing closer to its customers.

He added that the bank would be opening two more branches at Osu and Spintex road.

Mr Appiah-Baiden, therefore, gave an assurance that the bank would continue to come up with innovations in 2015 to enhance its relationship with customers.

Winner gratitude

Receiving the cheque, Mr Boateng thanked the management of the bank and commended them for honouring its customers.

According to him, the money would help improve his living standard and he would also invest hugely in his son’s education.
