Heritage Bank opens new branch

An indigneous bank, the Heritage Bank Limited, has opened its second branch in the country at East Legon, with a pledge to beat competition through the provision of low cost capital to  the private sector.

The bank commenced business as the 32 bank, with the opening of its first branch at Accra’s Airport City, which also doubled as headquarters The opening of the second branch is expected to pave the way for other branch openings across the country.

The Managing Director of the bank, Mr Patrick Fiscian, said at the launch that the bank would provide unique products to its customers to help their businesses to grow.

He said they would provide loans to the private sector at a relatively cheaper rate to help expand their operations.

“Currently, we provide one of the lowest rates on loans and I believe this is good for the industry, since access to credit is important for the growth of businesses,” he said.

Mr Fiscian said the bank would also expand its footprints across the country, adding that the bank’s mission was to offer world class banking services and to create convenience for their customers, making it possible for them to fulfill their goals and aspirations.

He further noted that their mission informed their focus towards investing in highly skilled people and world class technology, to offer robust and safe services to customers.

Maximising convenience

In its bid to transform the banking experience in Ghana, the managing director said it had placed emphasis on maximising convenience for its customers by listening to them in order to have a deep understanding of what they need and want.

“This will help us craft and fashion our banking services for each individual need. This approach will certainly usher in a new era of convenience in banking, providing the reliable and customised banking experience that customers seek,” he said.

A Board Member of the bank, Mr John Bayuo Warisa, for his part said the bank was poised to revolutionise the banking experience in Ghana by providing bespoke services that met the peculiar needs of diverse customer segments.    

Complying with standards

The Head of Banking Supervision at the Bank of Ghana (BoG), Mr Raymond Amanfu, lauded the board and management of the Heritage Bank Limited for their vision and courage in taking the bold step to start up a globally competitive banking institution right here in Ghana.

He, however, urged them to comply stringently with regulatory standards, prioritise excellent corporate governance practices and explore home-grown innovations in order to build customised solutions that would meet the peculiar needs of Ghanaian customers.
