Expansion

Beyond that, plans are also afoot to establish offices across the 16 regions in the country as GIHOC's business booms.

Already there are offices in Liberia, Nigeria and Cote d'Ivoire.

Soiree

The Managing Director of GIHOC, Mr Maxwell Kofi Jumah, announced this at a press soiree in Kumasi on Sunday, January 12, this year.

It was to show appreciation to Ghanaian media practitioners for their contribution to the growth of the company and to solicit their continual support towards the company’s expansion projects.

Turnaround

Mr Jumah credited the turn-around of the company to his strong team and dedicated workforce.

He said management has increased the salaries of staff as well as the introduction of 13th month salaries.

He said hitherto, the least pay received by a worker was GHS 400 which has now been increase to GHS 1,000.00

Appreciation

"I would like to thank the press for being part of our success story, our meeting here today reaffirms that indeed we appreciate you.

"We see journalists beyond just being media men but most importantly, as a family and strategic partners. You played a critical part of our success in 2019.

"This year 2020, we are bringing to customers a new line of wines and just to let you know that GIHOC uses the best of alcohol for our work and products unlike others," Mr Kofi Jumah said.

GIHOC

GIHOC was the first modern distillery to be established in West Africa. It was established by the pre-independence Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) in 1958 as the State Distilleries Corporation for the manufacture of alcoholic beverages.
