Awal inaugurates 3 boards

The Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Dr Ibrahim Mohammed Awal, has inaugurated three governing boards of agencies under the ministry, with a call on the members to come up with strategic plans that will make the country the preferred tourism destination in Africa.

He said although the sector had significant potential to drive economic growth and job creation, such a vision could only be achieved with a strategic plan.

According to the minister, the launch of the ‘Beyond the Return’ project was a deliberate plan by the ministry to return the sector to its pre-coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic era, when it recorded steady progress.

The agencies whose boards were inaugurated in Accra yesterday are the National Film Authority (NFA), the National Commission on Culture (NCC) and the National Theatre of Ghana (NTG).
