GCB bags tax awards

GCB Bank Limited (GCB) has won two awards from the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) for the year 2015.

These are the prestigious “Overall Best Taxpayer” in the Large Taxpayer Office – Domestic Revenue Division for the year 2015 and an honorary award for consistent improvement in revenue contribution.

The GRA annual awards are widely regarded in the revenue services industry.

The awards were received by the GCB delegation, led by the acting Managing Director, Mr Samuel Sarpong.

A citation in recognition of the Overall Best Taxpayer award presented to the bank read, “Your contribution to National Development has been very tremendous over the years. In the year 2015, your contribution to Domestic Tax Revenue in Ghana was very impressive across all tax types in the face of the economic hardship.”

It continued, “In fact, your compliance level in the 2015 year of assessment was overwhelming. You are always on time in terms of payment of taxes and filing of returns.”

With regard to the honorary award, the citation read, “GCB’s sterling and exemplary leadership in the banking industry has caught the attention of the Board of the GRA.”

“The bank’s investment in information technology has made it possible for her clients to be the first to be notified when staff salaries are paid.”

Commenting on the awards, Mr Sarpong said, "such a significant national recognition from the GRA is a strong reinforcement of GCB's robust financial and business model.”

“We remain committed to offering best-in-class banking services to our esteemed clients and customers with a heightened focus on digital technology.”

He commended customers and staff for contributing to the growth of the bank.
