The company is making this possible in partnership with Beko, a leading European manufacturer of a wide range of domestic appliances and uniBank Ghana.

The citing of the showroom in Ghana is the first by Beko and it is meant to serve as a starting point for them to expand their business in the African region.

The Chief Executive Officer of Forewin Ghana, Mr Ghassan Yareed, explained to the GRAPHIC BUSINESS after the opening of the showroom that the company partnered Beko because they shared in their mission of giving customers nothing short of the best products.

He said uniBank would also provide financing to enable customers access quality home appliances at an affordable price and flexible payment plan.

According to Mr Yareed, the showroom was part of the company’s investments in the Ghanaian economy and to also help make Beko the number one brand in Ghana.

uniBank’s role

The CEO of uniBank, Mr Felix Nyarko-Pong, said the bank was playing a major role in helping to distribute Beko’s line of consumable products in Ghana.

He said Beko was a brand that underscored innovation and energy efficiency, adding that the company provided some of the best consumer appliances in the market.

uniBank, he said, was committed to delivering excellent services and had, therefore, instituted a consumer credit scheme to help consumers acquire these home appliances even with no initial deposit.

Customers, he stated, could buy on credit to be repaid over a 12-month period at no interest and no hidden charges.

Enabling environment

Mr Yareed in the interview conceded that indeed the fast decline of the local currency had affected their business and as a result the company was looking at diversifying business to include agriculture and manufacturing.

He explained that what was needed now was to give the private sector the environment to operate as the company was looking at ways to help provide alternatives for the imported products, on which most people rely.

“The economy needs more than monetary tactics. We need to attract investors to develop the economy,” he said.

The company, he said, would also use the Zoobashop.com platform to make sure that more people get access to their Beko range of products.
