FNB Bank launches MoneyGram transfer service

FBN Bank, Ghana has launched its MoneyGram transfer services in Accra.It is to give the banking public an opportunity to enjoy accelerated, safe, accessible and seamless ways of receiving funds from abroad.

MoneyGram is an international money transfer service that allows customers to receive remittance from family and friends in the diaspora to meet various personal needs.

Launching the new product, the Managing Director of FBN Bank, Mr Seyi Oyefeso, said the introduction of the MoneyGram services was one of the ways in which the bank was ensuring easy and fast cash transfers across the sub-region.

He said with the global presence and acceptability in over 200 countries and 339,000 agent locations, MoneyGram provided an enormous opportunity for Ghanaians to receive funds from loved ones across the globe.

Mr Oyefeso said the services spanned  salary earners, students, “and everybody whose loved ones are in the diaspora, high network individuals, rural dwellers, among others”.

He expressed the hope that the introduction of the MoneyGram transfer would help to further leverage the expanding opportunities in money transfer to provide exceptional services to benefit its teeming customers.

Mr Oyefeso urged customers to be vigilant and safe, adding that, “Always remember not to disclose your online banking password, token number and ATM pin to anyone as FBN Bank Ghana will never ask you to divulge these details”.

For her part, the MoneyGram Regional Manager for Anglophone West Africa, Madam Keme Okusanya, said the partnership with FBN Bank, Ghana, was a step in building a lasting relationship between the two companies.
