Dusk Finance CEO emerges UPSA Man of the Year

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Mr Bernard Osei Tutu, of the Dusk Finance Limited and a businesswoman, Dr Mrs Helen Akorful have been named the Professional Man of the Year and Professional Women of the Year respectively at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) Alumni Dinner and Awards Night in Accra on Saturday, November 25, 2017.

Mr Tutu in an interview after picking up his award said he was proud to be recognised by his peers for his exploits in the professional world, adding that it would spur him on to achieve greater things.

He said: "I am so humbled, I left UPSA as a young man about 17 years ago. So to receive this award I believe is in recognition of my brand, Dusk Capital which is one of the leading investment banks in Ghana in terms of asset under management.

"This award comes to boost me to do more and continue to make the school proud, I am not going to rest on my oars".

He added that It was very important that UPSA alumni give back to the school.

Award winners on the night included: Mrs Jacquelyn Oyima who won the Most Promising Alumni 2017, Mr Prince Obuobi Frimpong emerged the Fledgling Entrepreneur and Mr Abu Tanko who was lauded for 39 years of dedicated service at the transport department of the school.

The winners' list was rounded off by Mr Gabriel Akpalu who was adjudged ‘Most Enterprising Alumni’ and Mrs Juliet Gbedemah, a Refugee Project Coordinator who received a Citation.

In an address before the awards were handed out, Mr Martinson Obeng-Agyei, the Director of the Vodafone Cash, called on professionals to adopt technological solutions to problems in order to ensure that they don't fizzle out in the job market.

Mr Obeng-Agyei urged professional to focus on the transformation of the country employing the current changing digital trends to boost national development.

He urged them to pay regular visits to the university and help mentor the students through guidance seminars.

Mr Obeng-Agyei commended the alumni for organizing the awards for four consecutive years and expressed the hope that they would work tirelessly for its sustenance.

Dr Kwaku Mensah Mawutor, the National President of the UPSA Alumni Association, commended Professor Joshua Alabi, former Vice-Chancellor of the University (who was in attendance) for his immense contribution which had improved the profile of the university across the globe.

He said his administration was also working hard to increase the membership of the UPSA Alumni Association.
