Dizengoff sells implements on credit to farmers

That follows an agreement between Dizengoff, an integrated products, projects and services provider and the agriculture, communication and electro-mechanic sectors of the country, and UBA Ghana for the UBA to act as the financial guarantor.
The Commercial Manager of DWA's Agriculture Division, Mr Boaz Yagel Ziegelboim, disclosed this to the Daily Graphic in an exclusive interview in Accra.
He added that there was no limitation to the number or kind of implements an individual or company can purchase under the arrangement except that one would have to show proof of ability to finish payment once the stock was delivered.
"The idea is to help people grow their businesses and encourage young people to go into agric.
"We, as a company, realised that more people are unable to go into agric simply because they do not have the needed finance to acquire the needed inputs but that shouldn't be the case," Mr Ziegelboim said.
He was, thus, optimistic the current arrangement with UBA would motivate many to go into farming, thereby increasing output in the agric sector.
Dizengoff has been in the country since the 1950s offering equipment, implements and other products and services to the agriculture, electro-mechanic and the public health sectors.
Having operated for decades, Mr Ziegelboim said, the company saw it as a corporate social responsibility to introduce initiatives that would help grow the businesses of its clients.
One such initiatives, he said, was the current decision to give implements on credit to interested people and companies.
He added that over 100 people had benefited from the arrangement and thus, called on others to take advantage of it to acquire inputs and implements they would have hitherto not been able to buy.
