Debra-Jane Nelson wins Best Event Management and Planning Company at 40 Under Forty Awards
The Chief Executive Officer of Think Mahogany Events, Debra-Jane Nelson has won the Best Event Management and Planning Award at the just ended 40 under Forty Achievers Awards at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel in Accra.
40 under Forty is an initiative from Xodus Communications Limited which seeks to identify, honour and celebrate a cross-section of Ghana's most influential and accomplished young business leaders under the age of forty from a wide range of industries.

The prestigious awards are a recognition of her dedication and commitment in building the events industry as well as being a highly respected company advocating for best business practices in the hospital, entertainment, tourism, culture and arts sector.
Speaking to the media after receiving the award, Madam Debra-Jane said she was so grateful to the clients and vendors all across the country and beyond for the massive support.
"It was a tough category I would say! First of all, I would like to say, thank God for always answering my prayers. And a very well done to the visionaries of the 40 under Forty awards scheme," she said.
"As an Events planner, it’s not easy putting up anything of this sort. It takes a lot of sacrifices, hard work, and people usually don’t even appreciate it. So really! A big congratulations to 40 under 40 and thank you for the opportunity. Thank you!”
She especially mentioned her committed staff who worked tirelessly to make sure they delivered precise planning, flawless coordination, timeless design and trusted production.
She said the staff were committed to her dream by default and she "doesn’t take it for granted".
Madam Debra-Jane turns 40 in less than 4 months and she said the award was the icing on the cake for her career in her thirties.
“What an amazing way to head into my forties,” she said.
Think Mahogany is an awards winning company which produces corporate, social and wedding events.
This company has produced events and collaborated with other events companies in Togo, Nigeria, Zambia, UK, USA and from Ethiopia. Madam Debra-Jane of Think Mahogany Events has also sat on panels in speaking engagements internationally representing Ghana on the topic of events.
Think Mahogany Events has trained over 300 events professionals directly and through the Events Masterclass Ghana training program who now own their own event service companies impacting the lives of trainees from other countries, including trainees from Netherlands, Uk, Zambia, Guinea, Uganda, Benin and Togo.
Think Mahogany Events has also trained over 400 and counting unskilled event support staff.
Madam Debra-Jane is also the founder of Zero Hunger Ghana, which is a non-partisan, non profit civil empowered organization geared towards contributing to the wellbeing of the vulnerable in society by giving them access to safe, healthy and nutritious food.
