Credence Micro Credit MD launches book on 5th anniversary

A book about the entrepreneurial journey of Ms Adeline Quarshie, the founder and Managing Director of the indigenous microfinance institution, Credence Micro Credit has been launched in Accra.

The book, titled "Born to Dare" was authored by Ms Quarshie and its launch coincided with the fifth anniversary of Credence Micro Credit.

It book has seven chapters and details the inspirational, 'rags to riches' story of Ms Quarshie who is now one of the female leaders in Ghana's finance industry.

Some of the highlights of the book include how she overcame being an average student to how she recovered after losing over $20,000 in a business transaction and her work in Ghana's finance industry.

Ms Quarshie also shares a blow-by-blow account of how she resigned from one of the reputable banks in Ghana to start Credence Micro Credit in 2017.

"Today is our (Credence Micro-Credit) fifth anniversary and I think that it is worth celebrating and at the same time sharing our experience with other people," she said in an interview on the sidelines of the launch.

"Basically, I was inspired to write the book because of my humble background. I believe this book will serve as an inspiration to many people".

Ms Quarshie said her outfit would as part of its expansion strategy move into other African countries and the real estate sector in future.

She mentioned that as part of the fifth-anniversary celebration the company would also be embarking on several Corporate Social Responsibility projects including donations to needy segments of society and skills training seminars.

Book launch

The official launch of the book was performed by Apostle Daniel Clad and the first copy was purchased for $2,000.

In his sermon, Apostle Clad urged Christians to be guided by the gospel in their business dealings.

He urged Christians to be resilient and not lose their faith whenever they face challenges or make losses in business.
