Colgate Ghana launches scholarship campaign with Melcom

Colgate Ghana has launched an eight-week scholarship campaign in exclusive partnership with Melcom Supermarkets, turning everyday household purchases into educational opportunities for students across the country.

The campaign, which runs from October to December 18, 2026, will award a total of GH¢240,000 in scholarships and GH¢120,000 in Melcom shopping vouchers. Winners will be drawn weekly.

Under the initiative, customers who purchase two participating Colgate products at any of the 54 Melcom stores will have the opportunity to nominate a student for a scholarship.

The participating products are the 140g Herbal and Maximum Cavity Protection variants, as well as the 120g Charcoal Gentle Clean.

Speaking about the initiative, the Country Lead of Colgate Ghana, Mr Edward Sonkor, said the brand has spent decades caring for smiles across Ghana, but a smile is more than healthy teeth.

"A smile is confidence. It is the power that helps a child walk into a classroom ready to learn. This campaign builds a culture that celebrates learning and ensures no child is left behind," he said.

To guarantee that the funds are used for their intended purpose, Colgate said all GH¢15,000 scholarships would be paid directly to the students' schools. The funds are to cover tuition, approved levies, examination registrations or essential supplies.

Customers are to visit any Melcom store and purchase two participating Colgate products. They are then to scan the in-store QR code or send "Hi" via WhatsApp to 0257483187, link their Melcom receipt and nominate a student.
