Bayport Financial Services has presented scholarship packages to 10 students who are children of members of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT).
The educational scholarship is aimed at catering for the secondary and tertiary education needs of the students.
Three other students were presented with bursaries.

The Managing Director of Bayport Financial Services, Mr Kofi Adu Mensah, who spoke at the annual Bayport Financial Services educational scholarship scheme in Accra, said giving scholarships to students was always exciting because of the collaboration they had with teachers of GNAT.
“We at Bayport are proud to be providing opportunities for young Ghanaian men and women who are selected yearly as winners of our scholarship scheme,” he said.
He said the scholarship had created numerous opportunities for a lot of people in all sectors of the economy and they had gone ahead to make an impact in society.
Mr. Mensah further stated that it was imperative for businesses and other stakeholders to partner the state in providing assistance and support in priority areas of education.
“At Bayport, we have made education a pillar of our corporate social responsibility and we are poised to make it a part of our core values,” he added.

The Chairperson to the board of Bayport, Mrs. Irene Duncan Adanusa, urged beneficiaries of the scheme to take advantage of it to make meaningful achievements, “as many individuals would have wished to be in your position.”
She also appealed to parents to monitor and ensure that their children studied hard to make the investments beneficial to them and Bayport.
Mrs Adanusa reminded students that they would be monitored at their various schools and if they performed below the standard, their scholarships would be withdrawn.
“You have earned this opportunity, so all you need to do is to work hard to achieve the success ahead of you,” she advised.

The Minister of Education, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, commended Bayport Financial Services for choosing education as an essential sector of life and giving hope to young students to further their education.
“I am personally excited about this excellent development and will urge all private institutions to emulate this gesture so that the government will be able to support other essential services of the economy,” she stated.
