The Anwelle Foundation was officially launched on Friday, September 25, 2026, at the Royal Cosy Hills Hotel in Jirapa, with a mandate to promote sustainable community development and expand opportunities for underserved populations across Ghana and beyond.
The ceremony drew traditional leaders, government officials, academics, diplomats, development practitioners and community leaders. Ahead of the launch, Founder and Chief Executive Officer Frank Anwelle led a delegation of board members, distinguished guests and representatives from Liberia on courtesy calls to the Upper West Regional Minister, Charles Lwanga Puozuing, and the Paramount Chief of the Jirapa Traditional Area, Naa Di-Naa Donlabong III, to brief them on the Foundation's vision and seek their support.

At the launch, Mr Anwelle said his commitment was rooted in personal experience, noting that access to support at a critical stage transformed his future. "Many talented individuals are unable to reach their full potential simply because they lack access to information, resources, or support systems," he said. "The Anwelle Foundation seeks to bridge that gap and create pathways for people to thrive."
The Foundation targets education, youth empowerment, vocational skills training, healthcare, clean water and sustainable livelihoods. Before its formal launch, it had already supported students, assisted victims of the Jirapa Senior High School dormitory fire, provided sewing machines to vocational trainees, supported healthcare facilities and funded clean water projects.
Naa Di-Naa Donlabong III urged Jirapa citizens at home and abroad to contribute actively to community development. The Upper West Regional Minister called for sustained focus on youth empowerment and agriculture, while Liberia's Presidential Envoy for Trade, Investments and Special Duties, Daniel N. Kolubah, stressed the need to connect people with opportunities, networks and resources.
The Board Chairman Professor William Angko explained that the name Anwelle means "no one should be left behind", stressing that the Foundation would be guided by transparency, accountability, fairness and integrity, with interventions driven by genuine community needs and measurable impact.
The Foundation plans to expand its reach, strengthen partnerships and develop new programmes for underserved communities.
