The exhibition
It is scheduled for December 12 and 13, 2024 and was launched in Accra, inviting players in the building industry, including real estate developers.
Dubbed: “Ghana-Diaspora Home Purchase Expo 2024”, the exhibition will assemble all the top-notch actors in the real estate and apartment ecosystem under one roof.
It is expected to attract members of the diaspora, who have plans to resettle in Ghana to interact with potential actors in the sector.
Among others, it will showcase a wide range of housing developments and investment opportunities directed at Ghanaians outside the country and also non-Ghanaians willing to relocate or invest in the real estate sector in the country.
Excellent opportunity
Speaking to journalists on the exhibition, the Lead Organiser of the exhibition, Alex Osei-Owusu, said the Expo was an excellent opportunity for those in the diaspora but interested in investing in the real estate sector.
“This Expo provides a unique opportunity for such people to connect with players in the real estate business, as well as mortgage financial institutions offering tailored packages to potential buyers,” Mr Osei-Owusu said.
He assured attendees that they would have the opportunity to explore flexible mortgage options from leading banks, to help them make their dreams of property ownership more attainable.
He assured potential participants that the Expo would bring all stakeholders who mattered in the real estate business under one roof to network.
“At the Expo, we will also have expert lawyers who will guide attendees on the legal aspects of property investment. From understanding land tenure systems to avoiding fraud, participants will receive all the legal insights they need," Mr Osei-Owusu assured potential investors.
He hinted that there was constant engagement with Ghanaians in the diaspora and encouraged them to register and participate in what he described as a “landmark event”.
He explained that the organisers were using the expo to create a platform “to match-make our local real estate developers and practitioners to our friends in the diaspora”.
Mr Osei-Owusu, who is also the Legal Director of HTS Construction, however, explained that the main focus was on Ghanaians in the diaspora, pointing out that a lot of Ghanaians were based in the UK, the US, Canada and Europe.
He said even though the Expo is focusing on Ghanaians in the diaspora, it did not exclude local home purchasers.
Economic tourism
He said Ghana was fast becoming a destination for Christmas and Easter, particularly with the Paragliding festival, which had now become a regular feature on our national calendar.
Mr Osei-Owusu attributing the trend to the role played by the Ghana Tourism Authority to woo the diasporans to Ghana, said by the Expo, “We want to trade Ghana as a destination for economic tourism”, expressing the hope that after the festivities, those people would have invested.
One of the exhibitors and headline sponsor of the upcoming exhibition, the Managing Director of Nilex Properties, Nilesh More, called on Ghanaians both home and abroad to join hands to boost the local industry.
