Akuapem District Society of ICAG inaugurated

The Akuapem District Society of The Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana (ICAG) has been inaugurated.

The first Chairman of the Akuapem District Society, M. Kofi Kye in an address at the inauguration assured participants present of the Society’s vision to provide a forum for building the competencies of its members and young accounting professionals in the Akuapem area as well as promote social interactions among members and their families.

The Greater Accra Regional Director of the Ghana Audit Service, Mr Robert Fiadzo also advised members to participate in the society’s activities, sharing their thoughts and experiences to promote the growth of The Akuapem ICAG Society.

Members of The Akuapem District Society of The Institute of Chartered Accountants ended the launch with a courtesy call to the Paramount Chief of Akuapem Traditional Area, Oseadeeyo Kwasi Akuffo II.

Oseadeeyo Kwasi Akuffo II applauded members for the formation of The Akuapem Society and promised his support to the activities of the Society.

He also advised members to be good role models for the youth of Okuapeman since youths interested in the accountancy profession who sometimes find to difficult to identify places which offer training with regards to the profession.

He further iterated his vision to uplift the education standards of his citizens, especially the upcoming youth.

His Royal Highness, Oseadeeyo Kwasi Akuffo II also encouraged members of the Society to make the Society more appealing to women. This, he said will increase the Society’s ability to embark on activities geared towards fulfilling their corporate social responsibility because women have a heart of empathy.

The Chairman of the Akuapem Society of ICAG, Mr. Kofi Kye in his response to Okuapehene also assured Oseadeeyo Kwasi Akuffo II that the society will embark on more public relations campaigns in schools and organisations in Okuapeman to educate them about career choices in the accountancy profession.

He also urged more females to join the Society and the accountancy profession.
