The Marketing Director of Airtel Ghana, Mr Manu Rajan, has disclosed that Airtel Ghana is investing US$150 million to expand its data footprints across the country.
He stated this at the launch of the Airtel “Browse Chaw” campaign on July 23, 2014 in Accra.
The new campaign is aimed at positioning Airtel as the network with the best data offering.
Mr Rajan said ‘Browse Chaw’ allowed the customer to browse, stream and download at exciting speeds at affordable rates.
He said under the campaign, Airtel was offering a healthy bouquet of data products that had been designed for its valued customers.
He also pointed out that Airtel had over the years introduced customer-centred data services which had revolutionised how people used data in Ghana.
“We just introduced our Airtel Care application, a simple, user-friendly application which allows customers to manage their main and data accounts, top up easily, manage their value added services subscriptions and also contact customer care,” he said.
“We are obliged and committed to ensuring that our Internet connection is less complicated and accessible to everyone,” he added.
Other data services
Mr Rajan further mentioned other data services such as Data Rollover which allowed data users to roll over their unused data credit before it expired among other services.
The Manager in charge of Data, Kwadwo Okyere Amoako, for his part, outlined some of the products and services Airtel provided for its data customers, which included data bundles, data gifts, Opera Mini and Facebook Web Pass, and Facebook zero and time bundles.
