It has also expressed its commitment to continue providing innovative infrastructure projects for the country despite the current economic challenges.

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the company, Horiato Pitcher, expressed his optimism in an interview with the Daily Graphic shortly after the company climaxed its 50th anniversary with a thanksgiving service in Accra on Wednesday.

He admitted that the company had faced some challenges in the last few years, saying “The reason is because obviously, once the economy suffers, projects tend to suffer. Indeed there are many projects that are ongoing currently that the payments are delaying but with our capacity over the years, we are able to weather these storms, we can spice projects and wait for payments to come in.”

He said the company Antwi-Donkor, Krakue (ADK) and Partners, from its humble beginnings as a quantity surveying firm, had grown to become a leading consortium in the infrastructure development consultancy space in Ghana under the visionary leadership of Dr Michael Krakue, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the consortium.

He said ADK had, as its guiding principle, the delivery of value and satisfaction to its clients and had earned a reputation as a professional, reliable and efficient company, with a sterling record for delivering construction projects on time and within budget, without compromising quality and attention to detail.

“We are thankful to God for the 50 years journey so far, it has been challenging but great and exciting.

“We would like to believe the future is bright; we have a lot of projects ongoing that can take us through the next three or four years and obviously with our capacity, I guess, so long as there are projects to supervise and design, the future looks bright enough for the next five decades,” he said.

He said in the five decades of its existence, ADK Consortium had consulted on several projects of diverse types, sizes and complexities; including feasibility studies, design to construction supervision, for both private clients and government institutions.

These projects, he said, included the multi-million dollar conversion of the State House Tower Block into offices for Members of Ghana’s Parliament, otherwise known as Job600, an iconic project completed in 2015;  the 3ks' Water Project, a Government of Ghana-funded project aimed at providing Kumawu Community with potable water supply; the rehabilitation and expansion of existing water supply systems in Konongo and the Kwahu Ridge communities, and the development of Kumasi Airport Phase II & III.

The rest include the Ghana Government Priority Hospital Infrastructure Project (Agenda 111); Toyota Ghana /University of Ghana Workshop and Training Centre;  the design review and construction supervision of Kumasi inner city roads, and the design review and construction supervision of selected roads in Sekondi-Takoradi.
