2022 Women in Agribusiness Awards launched
Guzakuza, has launched this year’s edition of the Women in Agribusiness Awards to recognise and honour women driving economic growth in the agriculture sector while promoting the women empowerment agenda.
The award seeks to celebrate the achievements of outstanding women in agribusiness community who are taking up initiatives as well as supporting women through mentorship and market ties.

Under the theme: “Revitalising partnership for Sustainable Agribusiness Development”, the week-long event slated for October 24 to 29 will take place in the Greater Accra, Ashanti and Northern Regions of Ghana.
Speaking at the launch, the Programme Coordinator for the Women in Agribusiness Week, Akosua Duah, said women-led agribusinesses played a vital role in the African economy, yet they often go unnoticed.
She said Guzakuza believed that women were doing a lot especially when it comes to agribusiness therefore, their achievements needed to be recognised.
“For the past year, we have been running an award scheme to highlight and celebrate the achievements of exceptional women in the agribusiness community who have gone above and beyond, and led the way for others to follow.
“Last year, five women who are leaders in African agribusiness were awarded for their achievements in categories including: Agtech Innovation, Covid 19 Agribusiness Resilience, Dare to defy, sustainable green innovation, and the role model excellence,” she said.

Touching on Women in Agribusiness 2022, she said the awards scheme has new and revised categories this year to appeal to a wider range of trailblazers from the various points of the agri value chain and network.
The categories include She – Innovative in Agribusiness/Agritech Innovation;
Perseverance Award; Emerging Star in Agribusiness; Covid-19 Resilient Award; Role Model Excellence Award; Innovation of the Year; Environmental Impact Award; New Business of the Year; Business Diversification Award; Green Business of the Year; Diversity and Inclusion Award; Export Agribusiness of the Year; Micro Business of the Year; Best Woman Farmer of the Year; Green Business of the Yea; Online Agribusiness of the Year; Sustainable Agribusiness of the Year; Agritech Company of the Year; Young Agri Entrepreneur of the Year; Agrifintech Company of the Year and Marketing Innovation Award.
The rest are International Agribusiness Woman of the Year; Agrimedia Award of the Year; Agri Jouranalist of the Year; Agri Finance of the Year; Research Institute of the Year; Agribusiness Institution of the Year; Best Government Agri Initiative; Agric Innovator of the Year; Best Agri Advocacy Award; Long Service Awards; Best Agribusiness Ally Award; Best Packaging Agribusiness of the Year; Best Equipment & Machinery Award and African Agribusiness Woman of the Year.
