14th Business, finance excellence awards slated for April 30
This year’s 14th Ghana Premier Business and Finance Excellence Awards has been scheduled to take place on Friday April 30.
It will continue to recognise “la crème de la crème” of Ghanaian business and finance.

The Director of Top Brass Ghana, Mr Isaac Dakwa, said given the raging global pandemic, the year’s awards ceremony was being organised under the theme: “Business and Finance- Responding to the Challenges of Covid-19”.
Background
The awards scheme has its origins in the Golden Jubilee Business and Financial Services Excellence Awards, which the Ghana@50 Anniversary National Planning Committee mandated Top Brass Ghana, an events and corporate communication company, to organise in 2007 as part of activities to commemorate 50 years of Ghana’s Independence.
The Golden Jubilee Award winners included Accra Brewery Limited; ADB Bank Limited; Aluworks Ghana Limited; Anlgogold Ashanti Company Limited; Barclays Bank Ghana Limited, and Ecobank Ghana Limited.
Others are Enterprise Insurance Company Limited; Ghacem Limited; Ghana Cocoa Board; Ghana Commercial Bank Limited and Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited.
Annual event
At the instance of the Golden Jubilee Award winners who felt strongly that the awards ought to be instituted as an annual project, the scheme was designated as the Ghana Business and Financial Services Excellence Awards Scheme the following year, 2008.
It has since been organised annually by Top Brass Ghana to honour business and finance houses which are deemed to have made outstanding contributions to the economic development of the country.
In 2020, the Ghana Business and Financial Services Excellence Awards scheme was re-branded as the Ghana Premier Business and Finance Excellence Awards to reflect its distinction of being the first comprehensive, all-inclusive, cross sectoral development oriented excellence awards scheme.
