Prez Mahama promises 5 new stadia 

Five new sports stadia will be built in the country if the National Democratic Congress  (NDC) wins in the December 7 polls, the party's 2016 election manifesto says.

The stadia would be located in the Volta, Upper West, Upper East, Brong Ahafo and Eastern regions,

In Accra last Monday night, President John Dramani Mahama, who presented highlights of the NDC election manifesto which would be launched in Sunyani on Saturday,  September 17 said sports development would receive maximum attention of the next NDC administration. 

Going into specifics, he said, a key focus of the next NDC government would be the revamping of  the Winneba Sports College to enhance its activities.

He also stated that the El-wak Sports Stadium and the Nicholson Park at Burma Camp would be revamped and expanded.

Besides,  the Azumah Nelson Sports Complex would be refurbished  to serve as a sports and recreational centre for the youth.

Mr Mahama said one community day senior high school in every region would be selected for development into a sports centre.
