Kingston calls for Preko’s return

Former Black Stars midfielder, Laryea Kingston, has appealed to the management of Accra Hearts of Oak to bury their differences with Yaw Preko to enable him to take over the technical direction of the club once again.

Kingston noted that Coach Preko had what it took to transform the club and must, therefore, be allowed to bring to bear the experiences he had acquired from his playing and coaching career.

He explained that Preko, being a former player of the club, would be more passionate about changing the fortunes of the Phobians than other coaches.

Coach Preko resigned from his post as the Hearts’ technical head last Friday, citing personal reasons for his decision.

However, recent developments indicate he had rejoined his former boss, Kenichi Yatsuhashi, as deputy for Nigerian side, Ifeanyi Ubah FC.

In an interview with the Graphic Sports, Kingston said "I was so happy to hear that Hearts have appointed Yaw Preko as coach because he is a former player of the club".

"It is very important because he has that passion for the club and will do everything possible to help transform it.

"I'm pleading with the management of the club to resolve whatever issue they have with him so he can come back," he added.

Kingston, who is a former player of Hearts, urged Hearts to employ former players to take up roles in the club and can contribute their quota to help transform the club.
