GOC polls: Three delegates disqualified

The disciplinary, grievance and dispute resolution sub-committee of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) has disqualified Flings Owusu Agyapong, Abeiku Jackson and Ibrahim Issah from participating as delegates and from voting at the congress of the GOC to be held today at the Swiss Spirit Hotels and Suites Alisa (formerly Alisa Hotel) in Accra.

The decision was based on a petition the committee received from some members of the federations over the eligibility of some of the delegates proposed for the elections.

A document sighted by the Daily Graphic yesterday signed by chairman Justice Tanko Amadu and threee other members of the disciplinary, grievance and dispute resolution sub- committee after a meeting between the complainants and defendants stated that “for the avoidance of doubt, the following proposed delegates are hereby disqualified from participating as delegates and from voting at the Congress of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) to be held on March 15, 2017” and mentioned the names of the disqualified delegates as Flings Owusu Agyapong, Abeiku Jackson and Ibrahim Issah.

The committee, however, indicated that the full reasons for the ruling shall be published on March 28, 2017.
