Black Stars opponents Uganda lose 1-0 to Togo in international friendly

The Cranes of Uganda lost 1-0 to Togo on Tuesday at the Kegue Stadium in Lome in their only preparatory game ahead of a crunch encounter against the Black Stars in a 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier in Tamale.

The only goal of the match was scored by Atakora Lalawele in the first half.

Togo edged Uganda 1-0 in 2014 at the same venue during the 2015 AFCON Campaign and emerged victors once again with the same score line.

Uganda coach Milutin Sredojevic tested his players against a very good Toglese side which featured skipper, Emmanuel Adebayor ahead of Friday’s Group E opener with Ghana.

The Cranes are returning to the AFCON Finals for the first time since 1978.

Uganda will remain in Lome until Thursday morning when they travel to Tamale ahead of Friday's encounter with Ghana.
