Avorsey, Yabah win Achimota Medal

Aku Yabah partnered Frank Avorsey perfectly to win the maiden edition of the Achimota Golf Club’s Ladies Monthly Medal competition.

The pair won the September edition of the new-look event with a 66 score.

Seasoned golfer Emos Korblah teamed up with Eileen Conteh to finish in second place with a 69  score, while  Quinton Sherlock and Mary Werner followed after recording a 70 score.

Now referred to as the Couples Greensome Mode, the competition pairs a male and a female to battle their counterparts for supremacy.

Lady Captain Peace Akwei mentioned that the innovation was to create more excitement and competitiveness in the growing competition.

The sponsor of the event, Constant K. Hometowu, Justice of the High Court, said “sports concerns all of us, so I saw it more of a duty and a responsibility to support it when I was approached. I have a strong desire for sports and I am looking at the possibility of doing it on a constant basis.”
