Ainooson to dominate Stellar Awards

Kumasi Asante Kotoko defender, Abeiku Ainooson, is the hot favourite to dominate the nominations this Saturday at the launch of the fourth edition of Stellar Logistics Western Region Sports Awards (SLWRSA).

The launch, which will be held at Champs Bar, Stellar Lodge, in Takoradi, will see Ainooson, a native of the Western Region, seeking nominations in the Best Footballer and Sports Personality of the Year category; awards he won in last year’s edition of the event.

Organisers of the awards, West Prime Communications Limited (WPCL) in a statement signed by Corporate Affairs Manager, McDonald Som, said the launch would be used to kick-start the activities leading up to the main event.

The statement read, “The Western Regional Minister, Mr Paul Evans Aidoo, will be the Special Guest of Honour at the ceremony, which will be chaired by Nana Yaw Osafo Adjei, the Managing Director of TAQA Ghana & General Manager of Takoradi International Company (TICO). 

“The event is expected to be attended by about 100 guests, comprising sportsmen, sports administrators, business executives, MPs, MMDCEs, traditional rulers, educationists, the media, sports enthusiasts and the clergy.”

The statement added that Stellar Logistics would also be formally introduced as the headline sponsor of this year’s event whose date would be announced at the launch.
