Afriyie Ankrah was fired by President John Mahama immediately after the Black Stars’ chaotic FIFA World Cup campaign in Brazil even before he returned home.

He has been invited by the commission to give evidence on the organisation of supporters and ambassadors to Brazil for Ghana’s third World Cup participation.

Last week, the commission sought for details on how the supporters and ambassadors were organised to Brazil but ministry officials mentioned the former minister as the one who was on top of that issue.

Appearing alongside Afriyie Ankrah is Mr Fred Darko, who was the chairman of the Planning Committee, as well as the Project Director at the World Cup Secretariat.

Also likely to be invited later are the chairmen of the various sub-committees.

Last Monday, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, represented by Alhaji Abudulai Yakubu and Prosper Apasu, Chief Director and Chief Accountant, respectively, climaxed their three-day session with the commission, while the three-man body yesterday reviewed its work over the past week.

So far, almost all the witnesses have given evidence both in public and in camera out of their own volition.
