It was a beautiful sight to behold as the patron and bankroller of the club, Oseadeayo Agyeman Badu II, gave the whole ceremony a royal touch with his presence, while the entire Dormaa-Ahenkro township was thrown into a jubilant mood with music and dancing.

The colourful event, which brought together traditional authorities from the various towns of the Brong-Ahafo Region, saw the league champions defeating Regional rivals Berekum Chelsea 2-1 in a ceremonial match before mounting the podium to lift the glittering trophy and receive the $30,000 cash prize.

With the kick off performed by Dormaahene, Oseadeeyo Osagyefo Agyemang Badu II, the league champions took charge of the game, recording two early goals through Bright Adjei and Derrik Sasraku on the 14th and 16th minutes respectively.

The goals woke the visitors from their slumber as they made a few attempts at goal but could not find the back of the net till referee Yaw Ametepe whistled to bring the first half to a close.

From recess, both teams upped their game, but the Chelsea strikers, appeared hungry for the a goal as they mounted pressure on their opponents with Stephen Asare Baffuor terrorising goalie Joseph Addo.

During one of such attempts, Stephen Asare Baffuor pulled one goal back for Chelsea when referee Ametepe awarded a penalty after Osei Bonsu was pulled down in Aduana’s 18-yard.

The results of the match did not mean anything to the home fans who were already in a jubilant mood even before referee Ametepe whistled to end the game.

It was all joy amidst drumming and dancing, waving of flags and chanting of victory songs.

Some of the dignitaries that graced the ceremony included Kwaku Agyemang-Manu, Minister of Health, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah of the NDC and GFA vice president George Afriyie who presented the trophy to the team.
