The project code-named Africa One Dream One Team One Mission (A1DTM) is intended to mobilise fans and supporters across Africa and throughout the world to encourage and cheer the African teams to win the 2018 World Cup.

Speaking at the launch of the project on Monday in Accra, the CEO of A1DTM, Nana Osei Ampratwum disclosed that his outfit intends to raise $150 million dollars to fund the project.

He said the funds will be raised with support from corporate bodies, the African Union and the Heads of State of the five African countries who will represent the continent at the 2018 mundial.

The Chairman of the project, Dr Toni Aubynn, in his address said African countries had a very rich history in the World Cup but it was time for the entire continent to present a united fan-base at the competition to ensure that the trophy is finally won by an African team.

He explained that a unified supporters front during all games involving African teams could be the final push required to send Africa beyond the quarter-final stage.

Dr. Aubynn said, "The project seeks to inculcate the spirit of friendship and togetherness among Africans on the continent, those in the diaspora as well as lovers of Africa. It also seeks to bring the total and collective support of all people to cheer, motivate and encourage all the players of the participating African teams to excel.

"The group would comprise people from every country in Africa and the diaspora. Equal opportunity would be given to fans from both participating and non-participating countries."

He stressed that although the project takes-off immediately, the 2018 World Cup is the focus.

Other members of the A1DTM Executive Board include Wilson Athur, televison presenter Nana Adwoa Awindor and a businessman Gabriel Worlanyo Asare.
