Over-confidence cost us – Traguil

Hearts of Oak coach, Sergio Traguil, believes that but for over-confidence, his players could have beaten Ashgold in their midweek league game at the Accra Stadium.

The Portuguese trainer thought Hearts could easily have stretched the lead at the summit even in the absence of his leading marksman, Cosmos Dauda, because Sam Yeboah and Eric Kumi were worthy replacements.

Speaking at the post-match interview after their 1-1 drawn game against Ashgold, the Portuguese trainer felt disappointed in the result but was hopeful that his attackers would be more purposeful upfront in the last eight games.

That notwithstanding, Hearts maintained their lead with 39 points and will play their next game against WAFA at Sogakope next weekend.

The week 22 matches also saw the Dansoman Carl Reindorf park being turned into a banana peel for Hasaacas who were thrashed 4-0 by Liberty Professionals, thanks to the exploits of hat-trick hero, Latif Blessing.

Techiman City could not withstand the arsenal of Bechem United in their 2-0 thriller at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park. Inter Allies beat Wa All Stars 2-0, Dreams FC 4, Berekum Chelsea 0, New Edubiase 2, Kotoko 1, Dwarfs 1, WAFA 0, Medeama 0, Aduana Stars 1.
