Manhyia North MP organises football gala for constituency

As part of activities marking this year’s Easter celebrations, Member of Parliament for the Manhyia North, Mr Collins Owusu Amankwah, has organised a football gala for four communities in the constituency.

Buokrom West & East, Moshie Zongo, Krofom and Duase Quarry took part in the keenly contested gala which was eventually won by Krofom.

For their efforts, Krofrom took home a giant trophy, a set of jerseys, footballs and an undisclosed sum of money.

Addressing the participating teams, Mr Amankwah said the gala was to unearth the untapped talents in the constituency and for the youth to use the platform to launch their careers in football.

Aside from that, Mr Amankwah said it was also to create unity among the communities and encourage them to live in peace with one another.

He said through a similar programme, four youth from the area had been chosen by clubs from Bulgaria and Turkey and were currently plying their trades there.

He advised players to be disciplined and regularly add value to their talents so as to make them better than their peers who played in the same positions in order to help them maintain their positions in their teams.
