In a surprise U-turn, management of Liberty which had initially demanded a whopping $200,000 for the player’s signature, have resolved to keep the Premier League’s top scorer for another year despite interest from giants, Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko.

According to Liberty president, Felix Ansong, the diminutive striker is under a three-year contract with the club and would be made to play for the Scientific Soccer lads for at least one more season.

“Finally, the club have decided not to cash in on Latif and he will stay for one more year as things stands now,” Mr Ansong told the Graphic Sports in an interview yesterday.

“He currently has a three-year contract with the club and we expect him to stay and play for another more year.”

Blessing has been the most talked about player in the domestic league after an excellent season which saw him becoming the Premier League’s top scorer with 17 goals to his credit, with his hat-trick on the final day of the season handing Liberty a 3-1 home win over Bechem United to escape relegation

The turn of events club’s final decision  the 21-year-old  prolific striker is expected to be the key driving force for Liberty as they begin another year in the Ghana Premier League.
