Ex-Right to Dream star to help unearth talents
Former Major League Soccer (MLS) star, Michael Tetteh, is determined to offer talented youngsters in Ghana an opportunity to realise their dreams in football, education and other fields they find themselves in.

He said he was going to establish a school in the coming years that would provide them with relevant education while harnessing their other gifts.
A graduate of the famed Right to Dream Academy, which has helped talented but less privileged Ghanaian children to benefit from good education and also hone their sporting talents, Tetteh is ready to lift other young talents to the heights he attained as a professional footballer with Seattle Sounders in the MLS, as well as a graduate of one of the finest schools in the United States of America.
Now retired from active football following career-threatening injuries, Tetteh told the Graphic Sports in an interview last Tuesday that he was now channeling his energies into inspiring young people to discover themselves and live their dreams.
He noted that God had deposited in every child some gift or talent but opportunities for these talents to blossom were missing in Ghana, hence his decision to return the favour he received some nine years ago when he was first spotted and drafted into the Right to Dream Academy, to improve the lives of many Ghanaians.
The 27-year-old Tetteh, who is in the country on holidays for the first time in 11 years since travelling to the USA on a sporting scholarship to University of California Santa Barbara, maintained that, but for the right environment offered by Tom Vernon’s Right to Dream Academy and the institutions he attended in the USA, and also the people he came across in life, his God-given talent would not have been discovered and honed.
“Environment is a key ingredient in discovering your gift and if we can provide that environment for them, they can focus and discover themselves”, Felix who transitioned from a goalkeeper to a left-back stated.
Today, Tetteh is not only a motivational speaker inspiring both the youth and business executives in the USA, but is also an author who recently published his first book entitled: Giftocracy, awakening the seeds of greatness.
The book, Tetteh explained, was inspired by the personal experience and life journey from a young boy living around La Wireless to a professional football player and eventually a public speaker and writer who learned at the feet of the late Myles Munroe and Robert Maxwell, some of the world’s foremost motivational speakers and writers.
