Elmina Sharks

Can Elmina Sharks bite Hearts in Accra?

Football fans across the country would have their Easter holidays spiced up with some very interesting pairings in the ongoing Ghana Premier League as Elmina Sharks seek to upset Accra Hearts of Oak in their tough encounter at the Accra Stadium on Sunday.

Both teams appear determined to collect all three points at stake and earn the bragging rights, but Sharks look a wounded side after losing 1-2 to WAFA at their home grounds last Sunday. Hearts, on the other hand are bent on doing everything possible to deny the Elmina lads a point in Accra where they held Great Olympics to a 2-2 draw, but Sharks’ coach Kobina Amissah boasts an impressive away record since joining the elite division and can come up with a well mapped out strategy to pull a surprise in Accra.

Kumasi Asante Kotoko are yet to resolve all the issues pertaining to their technical direction but also looking for an opportunity to put some smiles on the faces of their fans as they travel to the Wa Stadium to face defending league champions Wa All Stars.

Although third on the league log, Kotoko are not faring too well lately and are without a win in their last four matches culminating in the sacking of their Croatian coach Zdravko Logarusic last Sunday.  Since then, a former player of Kotoko and onetime coach of the Black Meteors, Frimpong Manso has been tasked to work with interim coach Godwin Ablordey to spearhead the clubs revival by returning them to winning ways beginning on Sunday in Wa.

Meanwhile, league leaders WAFA hope to continue with their winning run by adding Bolga All Stars to their casualties as they meet at Sogakope where WAFA remain unbeaten since last season.

Inter Allies will play bottom placed Ashgold at the El Wak Stadium, while Accra Great Olympics trek to Dansoman with a new technical team led by Swede Tom Strand to play Liberty Professional at the Carl Reindorf Park.

Medeama SC will be at the Tarkwa T&A Park to host Bechem United, Ebusua Dwarfs play Berekum Chelsea at the Cape Coast Stadium while Aduana host Tema Youth at Dormaa-Ahenkro on Sunday after clearing an outstanding match with Wa All Stars this afternoon at Wa.
