Mr Thomas Adu-Appiah, who is vying for the position of Brong-Ahafo Regional First Vice Chairman, told the Ghana News Agency  in Sunyani on Wednesday that backbiting and internal wrangling would affect the party’s fortunes in the 2016 general election.

He said poor leadership of the past Brong-Ahafo regional executive of the party had affected the trend of voting, which was going in favour of the National Democratic Congress.

Mr Adu-Appiah said the NPP needed loyal and visionary leaders who would place the interest of the party above their individual gains.

“We need executives who can provide both logistical and financial resources for the party,” he said.

Mr Adu-Appiah, the immediate past Nkoranza South Constituency Chairman of the NPP, appealed to the delegates to vote for people with strong track record to help revive the party in the region. — GNA
