The late Major Maxwell Adam Mahama was a hardworking officer with a lively demeanor. As the Officer Commanding ‘A’ Company and the Unit Maintenance Officer, he was able to effectively manage the affairs of his Company and also coordinated and supervised all the maintenance work in the barracks. This he was able to do easily as a result of his sound man-management skills.

He was confident with a rare sense of composure, particularly during difficult and challenging times and exhibited a calm disposition in all his undertakings. He was sociable and mixed easily with his superiors, peers and subordinates. Indeed, he was a good team player and a great leader as well. His display of good initiative as the Mess Secretary of the Arakan Officers’ Mess was a source of admiration by all and this legacy would continue to bear fruits in many years to come.

He was physically fit and had a good military bearing. He was the Parade Commander of the Guard of Honour Parade mounted by the Ghana Army during the President’s State of the Nation Address to Parliament held at the forecourt of the Parliament House, Accra on 26 February 2015.

Our departed Army officer and comrade lived a worthy and enviable life. His loyalty, dedication to duty and honesty will continue to inspire the living. On this day, we all join in condoling with the bereaved family for this irreplaceable loss.

May the soul of Major Maxwell Adam Mahama rest in perfect and absolute peace with his maker, till we meet again.
