The centre will serve customers of Tata in the northern part of the country who, hitherto, had to travel to either Accra or Tema to have their vehicles repaired.

Aside from providing repairs services to customers, the centre will make available to customers a wide range of spare parts and provide other services needed in the automobile industry.

Situated on a three acre land, plans are far advanced for the construction of a showroom where Tata brands of vehicles will be sold to clientele in the region and other parts of the country.

Launch

At the official launch of the centre, the Managing Director of SMICE International, Mr Amos Oppong Amankwah, said the SMICE was coming on board with its over two decades of wide range of experience in the service industry and assured clients of the best of services.

He said the company had over the years been very instrumental in the growth of the mining industry and the construction sectors as it had provided services to the major players in the sectors.

That aside, he said, SMICE, which was a wholly owned Ghanaian company, also supplied generators to these industries and had acquired lots of experience over the years.

Benefits

According to him, customers of Tata would benefit from the experience of the skilled staff of the company and also cut down on the turnaround time in having their vehicles fixed. Besides, he said customers in the northern parts of the country would no longer have to trek down south to the capital city to acquire those services.

Training

Mr Amankwah said all the staff of the service centre had been trained by engineers of Tata in their factory to enable them to deliver the best of services to its clientele.
