SDA supports Kaneshie Polyclinic

The South Ghana Conference of the Seventh Day Adventist Church (SDA) has donated an autoclave machine to the Kaneshie Polyclinic in Accra. The equipment, estimated at a cost of GH₵12,000, was presented to the clinic by the Adventist Men’s Ministries of the church and was received by the Medical Director of the Kaneshie Polyclinic, Dr Patrick Amo-Mensah, on behalf of the centre.

Dr Amo-Mensah expressed his appreciation for the gesture and called on the general public to also assist them since the facility was in need of basic medical equipment to make the centre run efficiently.

He also appealed for a bus to help transport community health nurses who usually embarked on immunisation programmes within the district.

“We have a building here which was begun in 2004 and meant for the establishment of wards and a theatre but these have not been completed yet,” he noted.

Humanitarian gesture

The President of the South Ghana Conference of the SDA, Dr Okoe Trebi Hammond, said the donation formed part of the church’s humanitarian activities.

He said the church was motivated to make the donation when it found out that the clinic was in dire need of the critical equipment.

“The church, therefore, mobilised funds to purchase the machine and it is our hope that the machine will assist the clinic in delivering quality health service to the public,” he said.
