No voter turned-up to cast his or her vote in any of the polling stations located in the Karni township.

The three polling stations in the Karni town namely Karni market, Karni Primary and Dampuo were deserted.

The landlords of the area had earlier made some sacrifices invoking curses on anyone who would flout their decision to boycott the polls.

The reason behind their boycott is the removal of the name "Karni' from the district's name which was formerly called Lambussie-Karni but now known as Lambussie district.

The residents resorted to the boycott as a way of expressing their disappointment about the new development.
