Dubbed:  “Cocoa Life,” the project is aimed at supporting farmers and equipping them with the essential knowledge and skills to improve their annual yields.

It also seeks to empower women in cocoa growing communities and work with cocoa growing families to create the kind of communities they want to live in.

It is being implemented by Mondelez International, a leading chocolate company.

At the launch in Accra, the Global Director of Cocoa Life, Ms Cathy Pieters, said the goal of the project was to impact the well- being of 45,000 cocoa farmers and indirectly reach more than 400,000 persons in cocoa growing communities in Ghana.

“We want to work towards eliminating child labour by helping communities to tackle its root causes, including, nurturing the next generation of cocoa farmers,” she said.
