Organisation supports Muslims to observe Ramadan fast
Direct Aid (DA), a humanitarian organisation, has started the distribution of food items valued at GH¢600,000 to 2,500 Muslim households across the country.

One thousand, three hundred households in Accra and 400 each in Kumasi, Tamale and Cape Coast, will benefit from the support.
Each of the households will receive a bag of rice, sugar, beans and a gallon of cooking oil.
Direct Aid, a Kuwait-based organisation which has operated in Ghana for the past 28 years, gave households at Madina in Accra their share of the items last Saturday.
The Country Director of DA, Mr Mohammed Said, said the support was given annually to commemorate Ramadan.
He said the organisation also “gives scholarships to the needy and has in recent times given some relief items to the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection to support victims of the June 3 disaster.”

The beneficiaries expressed joy and thanked DA for the support.
“For the past five years, during the Ramadan season, my household has enjoyed the benevolence of this organisation. May God continue to bless it,” a widow, Madam Rabiatu Alhassan, said.
