Mando Technical School honours board chairman

The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of the Mando Senior High Technical School (MANSEC) in the Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam District in the Central Region has honoured Mr Kojo Quansah, the Chairman of the Board of Governors of the school for his immense contributions towards the school’s development.

Mr Quansah, who assumed office about three years ago, has lobbied for numerous infrastructural projects, which when completed, would address some of the  challenges currently facing the school.

He played instrumental roles that enabled the school to get two major ongoing projects funded by the GETFund, while work is yet to commence on a third one.

The projects are the construction of a 4,000 capacity assembly hall complex which is at the roofing level and the construction of a 12-unit classroom block which is also progressing steadily.

Through his initiative, work is also expected to begin on the construction of a three-unit teachers’ quarters, to accommodate 12 teachers.

Timely interventions

These projects, according to the PTA, were timely interventions by the board chairman that would go a long way to address some of the challenges of the school.

Therefore, it conferred the honour on him at a PTA meeting, last Saturday.

A citation accompanying the honour said Mr Quansah’s tenure as the board chairman had brought about a rapid springing up and execution of several massive infrastructure developments on the school campus.

“Your sense of direction has helped to project the image of the school into the limelight and it has courted the envy of the so called well-endowed schools.  You have sincerely helped to position the school on the pedestal with its image soaring up,” the citation added.

Headmaster

In a short address, the Headmaster of the school, Mr Kojo Frimpong, thanked the board chairman for his dedication and commitment towards the growth of the school.

He stated that the move was to encourage Mr Quansah to do more since the school had a lot of projects including boys’ and girls’ dormitories, administration block and additional classroom blocks to undertake, as well as the acquisition of a school bus to enhance teaching and learning.

He called on the PTA to continue supporting the school in its quest to provide quality education to the students.

Appreciation

Miss Gifty Efua Quansah, who received the citation on behalf of her father, thanked the PTA and the school for the recognition and honour done him.

She assured the school of her father’s resolve to contribute his quota towards the forward march of the school.
