During the NPP’s Greater Accra Regional campaign launch at the Akojo Park on Sunday, a man who was later identified as Yuriba Issah Hafuis Mohammed was arrested by party supporters for allegedly carrying a severed head human head.

The timely intervention by policemen on the grounds saved him from being lynched. He was taken to the Community One police station.

ASP Juliana Obeng in charge of Tema Regional Police Public Relations told Graphic Online on Monday morning that when the polythene bag was emptied at the Police Station under the watchful eyes of the Assistant Commissioner of Police, (ACP), Mr Kwaku Boadu-Preprah, Deputy Tema Regional Police Commander, it turned out that the items found in the polythene bag were sand and rubbish and not a human head as was alleged.

ASP Obeng said the suspect has since been released unconditionally
