A recording from a closed-circuit television (CCTV) provided by TigerForce Consult, a private investigation company, and the investigations and intelligence surveillance put on the ground by the Osu Police led to the arrest of the two.
According to the Crime Officer of the Osu Police District Command, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Richard Daplah, the station received complaints from a number of owners of mobile phone and jewellery shops at Osu about the theft of their wares through break-ins.
He said last Friday, Mr Wisdom Geotrah reported that thieves had broken into his shop and made away with the items.
That report and the others earlier received by the police, he said, were what led to the investigations that culminated in the arrest of Ofori at Dansoman where he lived.
ASP Daplah said the police would conduct further investigations after which the two would be put before court

Another arrest
Meanwhile, another man, 36-year-old Kwaku Kyerematen, has also been arrested for allegedly exchanging a total of fake 2,000 euros in 500 bills for GH¢9,200.
According to ASP Daplah, Kyerematen first changed 500 euros at a forex bureau at Osu. He then changed 1,000 euros at a casino in the same area. At dawn last Thursday, he sent someone to change another 500 euros at the casino, while he waited at the entrance.
Luck ran out for him when the casino operators, who had realised that the earlier 1,000 euros were fake, suspected that the errand boy might be linked to that case.
They questioned the boy who told them the person who sent him was at the entrance of the casino. They, therefore, accompanied the boy to the entrance but, Kyerematen, upon seeing them took to his heels and could not be apprehended. He, however, went to the same casino again last Sunday where he was arrested.
ASP Daplah said while in custody, telephone conversations he had with a friend were revealing, but he did not give further details.
