Marshallans assist nuns

The Accra East Regional Council and Court of the Knights and Ladies of Marshall, a Catholic friendly society, as part of its charity work, has presented a washing machine to the Rev. Sisters of the Christ the King Catholic Church in Accra.

The society also painted their two-storey residential accommodation at a total cost of GH¢9,500.00

Support the religious

The Regional Grand Knight, Worthy Brother Charles Nuoriyee, said as part of the charity works of the society, members often supported less privileged institutions.

He indicated that the society decided to assist the Rev. Sisters this time round “as they face some challenges with their accommodation.”

“We realised that the building in which the Rev. Sisters lived had cracks, so we decided to assist them,” he said.

Worthy Brother Nuoriyee also called on corporate bodies, particularly those associated with the church, to support the religious departments in the congregation, saying that although the society rendered humanitarian services to groups outside the church, they tended to forget the religious departments within.

Appreciation

The Local Superior of the community, Rev. Sister Rita Teye, received the items and thanked the knights and ladies for their kindness.

She also assured them of the proper maintenance of the washing machine and the building.
